This position is responsible for establishing technical production standards, monitoring and improving production processes, and maintaining efficient and high-quality product output as it relates to press, including mixing and associated quality metrology
Essential Functions
- Understand the theory of operation and knowledge of inter-relationships of individual process modules
- Investigate root cause, drive corrective actions
- Develop maintenance procedures, PM schedules & detailed record keeping of the equipment.
- Define what data needs to be collected, setup data collection, track and analyze data, drive actions
- Articulate and implement control strategies to ensure quality of process modules
- Perform process windowing to determine capabilities, define specifications and routinely audit them
- Setup and optimize process flows for yield, cost and operations (cycle time, problem disposition)
- Create and maintain SOPs as well as train personnel]
- Create and maintain documentation to transfer and scale technologies with external manufacturing partners
- Own and drive the introduction of new technologies into factory environment
- Maintains a safe work environment.
Job Qualifications (Experience/Skills)
- Intellectual curiosity to learn and solve problems
- Highly organized, follow through impeccable, attention to detail
- Data driven, thinks clearly, can synthesize many data streams and excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with JMP, R or similar, DOE, FMEA, SPC
- Educational (PhD, MS, BS) or professional background directly related to the concrete product industry.
- Previous hands-on supervision experience in manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Exceptional knowledge of heavy equipment, production, and general plant practices.
- Strong technical and mechanical engineering skillset.
- Previous experience operating Besser block equipment or similar machinery is beneficial.
Physical Requirements
- Able to perform all job functions which includes, but may not be limited to: Walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing, squatting, reaching, bending, and exerting force.
- Able to work in a typical manufacturing/plant floor environment, while wearing protective equipment.
