Job Description
The Buyer is responsible for the purchase of materials, supplies and services in accordance
with company policy and with the objective the materials, supplies and services be available at
the time, place, quantity, quality and price consistent with the needs of the company. The
Buyer reports to the Purchasing Manager.

Job Functions
- Purchases materials, supplies and services in accordance with company policy.
- Reviews purchase requisitions and bids for accuracy and completeness and adherence to company procedures, policies and monetary limits.
- Promotes and maintains good business relationships with suppliers.
- Researches and identifies solutions and alternatives for non-standard parts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree in business or related field.
Experience: Two years’ experience as a buyer applicable position.
Skills: Reasonably well-developed negotiating skills. Good verbal and written communication. Ability to promote harmonious working relationships with company staff and vendors. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly by telephone, in person and in writing. Must be able to multitask and work with deadlines. Knowledge of inventory procedures. Ability to read manufacturing drawings. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office software programs.
