Mike Munro, International Sales Manager, and his wife Carol, represented Besser at the UK Precast show held in Leicester, England on 21 May 2015.
Over 400 visitors and 60 exhibiting companies participated in the day-long event which consisted of a trade show, technical presentations and seminars, a speed networking event and a meeting of the British Precast Council. At the trade show the Besser stand was front and center. Activity was brisk from both new prospects and longtime producers using Besser equipment. The prevailing mood among the visitors was optimism; they’re confident that the industry’s future is bright. This optimism is driving their desire to invest in increased production capacity and improved technology. Besser staff is actively following up with the producers interested in purchasing new equipment and upgrading existing machinery. Additionally, our new marketing agreement with Rosetta Hardscapes and their natural looking wet cast product line piqued the interest of many visitors looking to expand their product lines. Mike and a representative from Rosetta will be visiting these producers’ facilities in June.
The speed networking event, which matched suppliers and producers, made its debut this year and received rave reviews from participants. “I was able to have meaningful conversations with many key players in the industry during the networking session. A lot was accomplished in a small amount of time,” commented Mike. While Mike networked Carol took charge of the stand.
When the British Precast Council held its meeting Mike was seated to serve his term as the newest elected Associate Representative. Tracing its roots back to 1918, British Precast is the trade association of precast concrete manufacturers throughout the United Kingdom. The primary goals of the federation are to promote precast concrete in the construction market and to disseminate information, through a range of industry representation and by shared knowledge, to add value to its member companies.
