The Besser Board of Directors recently approved the promotion of Jason Rensberry to Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Jason has been part of the Besser family for over twenty years. He’s a third-generation member of the Rensberry family to join Besser in Alpena, Michigan. His grandfather was a millwright, and his father was a purchasing manager. In the summer of 1996, he secured a position in the Besser finance department: the first step in his career.
Jason earned a Bachelor’s degree in Production Operations Management from Central Michigan University and was rehired by Besser Company two years later on a contract basis. He worked in the Warranty and Claims department while also assisting the company to achieve ISO9000 certification.
In 2000, Jason was hired full-time as a Technical Assistant for Accounts Payable. Since that time, Jason has repeatably demonstrated his ability to successfully grasp projects. Based upon his exceptional performance, he was promoted to Treasury Analyst in 2003, Treasury Manager in 2007, Montreal Controller in 2012, Alpena Controller in 2014, Operations Manager – Montreal in 2018, Operations Manager – California in 2019, and finally Treasurer last year.
Today, Jason is a member of the Besser Benefits Committee, Chair of the ESOP Administration Committee, and an officer of the Company. He also sits on two external boards within the Alpena community: the Alpena Community Credit Union and the Northern Lights Arena.
