3,423 exhibitors from 58 countries!
Approximately 580,000 visitors from 200 countries!
And the Besser stand teaming with enthusiastic and knowledgeable industry professionals from around the world!
Held every three years in Munich, Germany, the world’s largest trade show for construction equipment boasted 62 hours of trade show time, spread out over seven days. Bauma is always an exciting and highly-anticipated week for the concrete products industry and this year was no exception. The event was the perfect stage for the Besser team to meet face to face with a global audience and demonstrate firsthand what makes Besser a premier supplier.
The prevailing mood of the crowd was of optimism. Attendees explored the 150 acre event with smiles, seeking new opportunities to improve operations through increased plant efficiency and expanded product lines. Distinctly, the Besser display catered to both of these areas. Our demo machine display showcased the popular Advanced Servo Vibration and Servo Main Drive (ASV/SMD). A video just above the display demonstrated the advancements in operation with side-by-side comparisons of standard vibration on CAM machines versus the Servo-equipped upgrade. Another upgrade promoted to block and pipe producers was Op-Smart, an easy-to-use software that identifies areas in need of improvements in order to maximize plant operation.
Our alliance partners, Omni Block, PaveDrain, Rosetta Hardscapes, Corner Block Spacer, ECOncrete, bioMason, and Allan Block provided a wide range of innovative, value-added products for attendees to consider. Representatives from these companies were at hand to provide complete details of their diverse products. So much interest was generated, in fact, that we will be doing special features of each product in future editions of this newsletter. You can obtain information sooner by contacting your Besser representative directly. We’re proud to work with this next generation of leaders to drive our industry forward with fresh ideas.
Additionally, concrete products from Breinco (Spain), Termodan (Israel), Blockal (Israel), Wembley (United Kingdom), and Cind R Lite (USA) were displayed to show the enormous variety of units that Besser equipment can produce. Beton Roser, our customer in Germany, supplied a 300 mm x 70 mm x 4 m concrete pipe to show the high quality of pipe produced by their A-60 Advantage Series Pipe Machine.
Plans are already underway for the next Bauma which will take place from 8 – 14 April 2019 in Munich.
NCMA/ICPI Pre-bauma Plant Tour: Many National Concrete Masonry Association and Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute members participated in a pre-bauma tour. The tour focused on concrete products produced in the Maastricht region and included some very unique applications. We’re proud that Beton de la Lomme in Belgium, a Besser equipped plant was featured on the tour. Producers met with the plant owners and staff and saw the company’s Stepoc units on job sites. Besser and Beton welcomed the bus filled with members with a large banner visible when they arrived.
