Besser Company was proud to add a 4th Besser D.A.R.E. Scholarship to our program this year, honoring of a young boy that passed away several years ago. Brenden Michael Joseph Grabow was a D.A.R.E. graduate who had hopes of joining the military and ultimately law enforcement. We’re pleased to be able to honor his commitment to his family and his community through this $1,000 award.
Launched in 1983, D.A.R.E. is an educational program that teaches youth about drugs, violence, bullying, internet safety, and other high risk circumstances that may enter a student’s life. Students are allowed to remain in this program as they get older as a D.A.R.E. role model. Last week, Olivia Losinski (recipient of the Brenden Grabow award), Hannah Dacey, Kali Spomer, and Dayna LaBell were presented with their individual scholarships. Brenden’s parents were in attendance to meet Olivia in person during a very touching award ceremony.
