Grease Flex Couplers on Besser Simem Gemini Series Twin Shaft Mixers
The Besser
Simem Gemini Series (Twin Shaft) mixer is equipped with metallic, rotating flex
couplers, containing internal and external splines. The flex couplers absorb the
movement or deflection of the dual, opposing shafts as they are impacted by
aggregates during the mixing process. Absorbing the deflection protects the twin
planetary gearboxes output bearings.
Since the flex couplers
rotate, the central and automatic Trabon grease systems cannot provide them with
lubrication. This means that you MUST grease the flex couplers fully, every five
days (120 hours) of operation.

movement of the shaft, under load, without damaging the transmission.

One-half
of the coupler is removed after removal of the transmission. Note
the grease, which is applied by grease zerks fitted on the outside of the
coupling.

these fittings every five days (120 hours) of operation, with 1/4 tube
