BiDi Maintenance
Quarterly and up to Yearly

Gear Boxes: 80W - 90 Gear oil
Vertical Impact Hydraulic vibrators: 80W - 90 Synthetic gear lube, Lubrication engineers #703 or equivalent

Crosshead Pumps: Type F transmission fluid
Electric Motors: EP - 2 grease or equivalent
68 W - Hydraulic Oil (for Hydraulic reservoir)

Every Three Months

• Change filters on crosshead pumps.
  

Every Six Months

• Check level of oil in crosshead, gear boxes, and hydraulic vibrators.

*Yearly

• Drain and refill all speed reducers and crosshead gear boxes.
• Drain and refill crosshead hydraulic reservoir.
• Drain and refill vertical impact hydraulic vibrators.
• Drain and refill hydraulic power unit if oil has gotten overheated or discolored.
• Grease bearings on electric motors of hydraulic power units and crossheads. (EP-2)
• Check bronze bushings in crosshead, mud pan and bellpacker.
• Check alignment of crosshead (see alignment procedures).

*Some hydraulic distributors have a service to yearly check and filter your oil.
