Rugged, durable Besser wet cast headwall form sets are available in a variety of shapes and sizes for producing headwall sections to meet individual state specifications. Form Sets

Form sets are built from heavy steel plate with channel rib reinforcing and are available in sizes 12” through 72”
(300 mm – 1800 mm) to make round,
arch or oval products. The wide open
top design permits rapid pouring and easy stripping, and the form sets are constructed to produce a chamfered edge on all exposed edges of the finished headwall product.

(Headwall jackets can be equipped with an optional
spring-assist hinge on the larger diameters to minimize
labor when opening and closing the doors.)

Jackets

Jackets (or outer forms) are built for long life and may be either straight or winged in design, depending on the specification. They incorporate heavy-duty reinforced fold-back doors with door supports on the larger diameters to hold the doors open at a 45-degree angle for stripping. All jackets are equipped with easy-to-operate adjustable locks designed to simplify the use of the jacket and ensure production of the highest quality headwall sections. An optional spring-assist feature is available for sizes 36” (900 mm) and larger to minimize labor when opening and closing the jacket doors. Optional vibrator mounts are also offered for the complete size range.

Cores

Solid tapered cores (or inner forms) are constructed from heavy steel plate
for years of dependable service. Cores are mounted to a base pedestal so the finished product can be easily removed once the jacket doors are folded back. Optional air assist is available to aid in stripping, and single or double blockout openings can be poured, depending on job specifications.
