Concrete
Pipe Machinery

BiDi® Advantage
Series
Besser developed the Advantage Series of Bidirectional
pipe
machines with producers in mind. A new frame design permits
multiple material feed options. New user-friendly component design
allows easy access for service, routine maintenance and
rapid changeover of
attachments. Cleanup time is reduced
because there is less material
spillage. A steel pit
foundation shell
reduces installation time
so the machine gets into production sooner.
All this means Advantage machines will spend more of
each production day doing
what they do best
- making
high quality
concrete pipe. BiDi
Advantage machines are available in three models: the A-36
machine to produce concrete pipe diameters 8” – 36” (200
mm – 900 mm) in maximum lengths of 8’ (2.5 m) or 10’ (3
m); the A-60 machine for diameters 12” – 60” (300 mm –
1500 mm) in maximum lengths of 8’ (2.5 m) or 12’ (3.5 m);
and the A-84 machine for diameters 18” – 84” (450 mm –
2100 mm) in maximum lengths of 8’ (2.5 m) or 12’ (3.5 m).
BiDi®
Conversions
Converting an existing packerhead pipe machine to the
bidirectional rollerhead system—BiDi—is a sound investment in
your company’s future, as the system updates and equips the
machine with state-of-the-art pipe-making technology. Major
conversion components include the dual drive hydrostatic
crosshead, inner and outer packershafts and bidirectional
rollerhead assemblies. Machine control options include Vision 2
for completely automated machine operation.
Vision
2 Automation
Vision 2 is a
complete automation system for Bidirectional and conventional packerhead
pipe machines. The system builds upon the functionality of Vision
Automation and adds new enhancements for even more precision and
reliability in pipe manufacturing.
AUTO-PACK
The AUTO-PACK Feed Control System automatically regulates the
material feed
on a packerhead pipe machine and maintains a constant
pack during the manufacturing cycle.

Quick-Change Bell Packer
The hydraulic bell
packer assembly has added a new quick-change feature which means
producers can realize added quality and efficiency in their pipe
operation. Rapid changeover of quick-change turning and vibrating
standards
is now possible due to the user-friendly design of the bell
packer upper vibrator plate. Another benefit derived from new
components is increased transfer of vibration from the bell packer to
the socket curing pallet, further improving bell consolidation.
Thin
Wall Pipe Production
The roller-compacted process (BiDi®)
continues to produce superior quality steel reinforced concrete
pipe suitable for traditional
thin wall spun pipe markets. Precise control over concrete
production combines with the BiDi roller-compacted process to
produce high quality, vertically cast thin wall
pipe that exceed
the requirements of the relevant thin wall standards.
How to Produce
Concrete Pipe
As a result of
advanced technology and design, the use of concrete pipe continues to
increase throughout the world.
