Base Down Form System

Large diameter wet cast base structures requiring a monolithic bottom can now be poured base down using a unique form system from Besser Company. By pouring base down, the form set and product need not be rolled over for stripping, permitting easy access to the core collapser and shoveling plate. Base down form sets are available to manufacture bases and risers in diameters 60” through 144” (1500 mm—3600 mm) in heights up to 96” (2500 mm). The simple addition of a groove pallet will allow the base equipment to produce riser sections as well.  Adjustable pallet stands are available to raise the bottom pallet to a specific elevation so various riser heights may be poured.

The base down form system also works well with self-compacting concrete, which will flow between the two base plates that form the bottom slab structure.
