Partnership Forms Besser GmbH

Besser Company of Alpena, Michigan USA and Hess Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG of Burbach-Wahlbach, Germany, two leaders of the worldwide concrete products equipment industry, are pleased to announce a new partnership with the formation of Besser GmbH of Emden, Germany. Besser GmbH acquired the assets of OMAG of Emden, Germany on 1 June 2004. The manufacturing facility in Emden encompasses 12,000 square meters (129,167 sq. ft.) with 100 employees.

As a result of the partnership Besser Company will add large pallet equipment to its current product line which will provide sales growth opportunities. The partnership provides Hess with much needed manufacturing capacity at the Emden location.

Hess Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1948 and is a leader in the technology of concrete block and pipemaking equipment and related handling systems with manufacturing locations in Canada, China, Germany and France. Besser Company is celebrating 100 years of service to the concrete products industry in 2004.

Besser is the leading supplier of complete production solutions for producers in the block, landscape, pipe, precast, prestressed, ready-mix and aggregate segments of the concrete products industry with manufacturing locations in the United States and Canada.
