Besser
Company Celebrates 100 Years
In the year 2004 Besser Company is
celebrating 100 years of service to the concrete products industry. Founded
in 1904 by Jesse Besser in Alpena, Michigan, Besser Company has grown to
supply complete production solutions for producers in the block, landscape,
pipe, precast, prestressed, ready-mix and aggregate segments of the concrete
products industry.
In Besser booth 1412 at the Manufactured
Concrete Products Expo (MCPX) innovative equipment, specially engineered for
the concrete masonry, pipe and precast markets will be showcased. The
anniversary model of the concrete products machine will be unveiled. The
booth will also highlight the heritage of Besser Company while celebrating
the company’s future.
At MCPX Besser Company is proud to sponsor
a 100th anniversary Harley-Davidson motorcycle in a raffle where
funds raised will benefit the foundations of the associations sponsoring
MCPX. Terri Rondeau, director of corporate communications commented, "It is
fitting that one industry legend (Besser) sponsors another
(Harley-Davidson)!"
Additionally, a newly designed 100th
anniversary logo will debut in January 2004. The new logo is an artistic
adaptation of the logo adopted in 1985 and incorporates the traditional
Besser blue and yellow.
Besser equipment is
producing concrete masonry units, landscape units, concrete pipe, precast
and prestressed products and ready-mix in 106 countries around the globe.
These producers are served by a worldwide network of sales and technical
service personnel, strategically located warehouses and manufacturing sites
in California, Iowa, Michigan and Texas and Canada.
